Dennis Doorakkers, International Ambassador

Allan has been in the wine business for more than 45 years. His experience includes directing and organizing the Mendocino County Fair Wine Competition, which he helped start in 1979, for most of the last forty years. He also created and hosted the California Wine Tasting Championships from 1983 through 2012. During his more than 35 years

Allan has been in the wine business for more than 45 years. His experience includes directing and organizing the Mendocino County Fair Wine Competition, which he helped start in 1979, for most of the last forty years. He also created and hosted the California Wine Tasting Championships from 1983 through 2012. During his more than 35 years as a winemaker and grape grower he became interested in the history of canned wine, and since 1980 has assembled a collection of more than 1,750 different wine cans going back as far as the 1930s.

Robert Williams Jr., PhD, has taught marketing and business courses for nearly twenty years.  He is also the founder of WICResearch, a leader in the wine-in-can market, and has conducted numerous studies with hundreds of news outlets quoting his work.  Robert recently presented at B.E.V. NY, and contributed to a session at ProWein in Germ

Rules

The competition will be held July 20-22, 2021 at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville, California. 


Registration and entries are done through Enofile at: https://enofileonline.com/landing.aspx?competitionID=2775


All canned beverages that contain grape wine as a component are eligible. The product must be commercially available somewhere in the world on July 20, 2021.


Gold medal stickers will be awarded in all categories as well as three Best of Show awards.  Award winners will be listed on the International Canned Wine Competition web site and promoted on our Facebook and Instagram pages (see links below).


Judging panels will consist of selected consumers, wholesale wine buyers and other wine professionals.


All beverages will automatically be entered into the accompanying package design competition. Awards will be made for individual cans as well as for series of cans (three or more).


Entry fee is $40 per product before June 20, $50 after June 20, 2021.

Registration opens January 12 and closes July 10, 2021.


Shipping information for outside the U.S.A.:

To facilitate customs for international entries, please email competitions@parkstreet.com   

The International Canned Wine Competition will cover their fees.

The deadline to contact Park Street is June 1, 2021.

If you are not using a U.S. importer you must contact Park Street Imports to avoid shipping delays.

Please contact the Competitions Team at Park Street via e-mail at  competitions@parkstreet.com and let them know you will be participating in the International Canned Wine Competition. 

Park Street will assist you in obtaining all necessary import documentation and provide you with detailed instructions for properly preparing and labeling your shipment. 

Do not ship your wines until you receive import documents and instructions from Park Street.
